Rooted in longleaf

Longleaf pine once covered millions of acres across the South. It grows on only a fraction of that ground today, though it's making a comeback — and our family's history with longleaf began in the 1990s when we started growing it on our tree farm in Lexington and Aiken County.

We count ourselves privileged to be stewards of this land. We're active in the SC Tree Farm Association, the Lexington County Landowners' Association, and other organizations dedicated to managing our forests well. Man's first vocation was to tend a garden — nature isn't meant to be left "natural" but cultivated and maintained. Our aim is to do that with excellence on the portion of Creation under our care.

Managing longleaf means managing pinestraw.

Longleaf drops needles a little all year, then heavily in late summer and again in the fall. Our operation started by supplying pinestraw harvesters; today we rake, bale, deliver and install it ourselves, direct to you. We serve wholesale distributors and landscapers, and we deliver and install for homeowners throughout the Midlands.

The pinestraw we sell is raked almost entirely from our own farm, and managing those stands is the work behind the product.
